Feb 01, 2017
So, I know it's been awhile. I'm fully recovered from my holiday hangover and now that the Christmas decor is taken down, I'm feeling the need to update our space with some new pieces that scream, re-FRESH. The weather has given me hope with a few days in the high-70's here in Charleston and I'm officially in the mood for shiny and beautiful things, especially when it comes to my humble abode.
One of my favorite looks in home design right now is the industrial interiors. That farmhouse meets old world raw materials vibe, you know what I'm saying?
A new trend for 2017 I'll be incorporating into our space as the warm weather approaches is copper. Copper every'thang. I'm loving adding subtle touches around the rooms, like in candles or plant stands. If you know like I know, metals tend to make a bold arrival and quickly fade, so it's something you don't want to invest too heavily in, since it will most likely be out of date sooner rather than later.
I'm also still very much obsessed with concrete textures, so adding to my collection, I've scooped up some candles from Target and planters from West Elm. Updating your space can cost as much or as little as you want it to and I rounded up some great DIY designs to tackle after your Spring cleaning binge. Now excuse me while I go run off to make the Raised Copper Pot Plant Stand from puresweetjoy.com. Hopefully it turns out just as amazing!

Our dining room was the first to get the copper treatment with this amazing Cheeseboard my in-laws gave us for Christmas. I also found the wall shelves on clearance at Target in January for $13. They bring so much more character space, although I'm still figuring out what little trinkets can go in all four of them. Our new rug is from Dash & Albert and you'll see more in the months to come. Our upholstered dining chairs are currently the bane of my existence with two toddler boys, so we're working on getting those replaced as well. I'm so tired of cleaning saucy finger prints from them! I'll be sharing this whole room reveal in March with all sources noted. Stay tuned.

Xx,
